Saftey Precautions

The safety of PSD students is of utmost importance to us as we institute the following guidelines as
set out by the Niagara Regional Health Department. We thank you for your cooperation in following
our new safety measures.

Classes
  • We have reduced class sizes according to the size of the studio space.
  • Studios have been blocked off into 2 metre squares to allow for distancing.
  • Class start times will be staggered to decrease the contact among our students.
Cleaning
  • All dance rooms, hallways, bathroom and waiting areas will be fogged regularly.
  • Rooms will be disinfected after each class.
  • Masks will be worn throughout the duration of classes with the exception of the Kinde
  • program.
  • We will re-address the issue of masks as the year progresses.
  • Students are to disinfect hands before and after class.
Symptoms
  • If a child has a fever or is showing any symptoms of illness before or during class the parent/guardian will be called immediately. It is imperative that contact information is up to date in case of an emergency.
  • The child will be isolated in the change room until the parent arrives. The change room will only be used for this purpose.
  • If a student or any member of the family tests positive for Covid-19, please contact a director.

Main Studio Procedures
(The Annex will operate similar to the main studio. Guidelines will be clearly marked.)

  • Please keep your child at home if showing any signs of illness
  • Please check your child’s temperature before arriving at the studio
  • Masks will be mandatory within the studio for all children 7 years old and up
  • Masks will be addressed as the year progresses
  • Parents will not be allowed in the studio other than Kinder parents assisting in the dressing of their child.
  • Parents are asked to leave the premise for the safety and well- being of incoming students.
  • Floors will be clearly marked to indicate one way traffic
  • Students will line up on the outside patio.
  • Students will sign in at the door of studio C and continue into the holding area.
  • A teacher will let the students know when to proceed to put coats, boots and dance bags into the cubbies provided in the main hallway. Please consider the size of dance bags as all belongings must fit in their individual cubby
  • Students will get their temperatures checked before entering the classroom.
  • Students will choose their 2 metre square inside the classroom
  • All dance shoes that are needed during their class will be placed in a smaller square within the 2 metres
  • When using a bathroom there will only be one student at a time. No one will be allowed to wait in the hallway. Students must disinfect their hands before entering and wash their hands before they leave.
  • When exiting the studio, students will get their belongings from the cubby and exit through the main doors.
  • Parents should be available for pick up immediately after class
